About

Welcome to The Open Veins of Football! The inspiration for the name of the blog comes from Eduardo Galeano’s classic book about the plunder and pillage of Latin America.

The blogs founder, Dan Williamson, is a Latin American studies graduate, grassroots coach, and football writer. A senior writer for These Football Times, Dan is also regularly featured by The Football Pink and STAND fanzine, and has written for IBWM and Football Weekends magazine.

After a hiatus the blog has been revamped for 2018, with regular content updates. Submissions are welcome, covering any football related topic that takes your fancy!

Please get in touch via Twitter or by email (openveinsfootball@outlook.com).

Thank you!
